Tim Thomas has always been a fan of unconventional goalie masks. His mask from a few seasons ago looked like something that was pulled out of the supply closet of a high school gym class (see image below). Well, It looks like Timmy has finally stepped into the new century and has had a new streamlined mask made. His new mask is still somewhat different than those worn by most goaltenders. The cage portion of the mask still overlaps the rest of the mask by an unnecessary amount. BostonBruins.com has a slide show up with images of Thomas' new mask.

Thomas' new mask includes an homage to bow hunting, a reoccurring theme for the paint schemes on all his masks. Tim Thomas is an avid hunter who enjoys bow hunting for bears. Call me crazy, but somehow I think I would want a bigger advantage against a bear.
