- B's take advantage of some shaky goaltending from Peter Budaj- David Krejci gets the game winner
- Blake Wheeler gets his first NHL goal
- Michael Ryder gets his first goal in Black & Gold which also happens to be the 100th of his career
- Tim Thomas flipped and flopped his way to 35 saves
- Patrice Bergeron had 2 assists in his first regular season action since October 27, 2007
- Aaron Ward looked a little rusty: bad delay of game penalty with the B's already on the PK which lead to a goal about 2 seconds after they got back to full strength; awful give away in his own end leads to a goal by Cody McLeod; one broken pane of glass; -2 on the night
- Avs out-shot the B's 39 to 20
- "face-off specialist" Stephane Yelle goes 4 for 15 (27%) at the dot
- The B's got outplayed in almost every aspect of the game, but somehow found a way to win and really that's all that matters. I'll take it. The B's are undefeated!
