Could my plea to Whalers fans be working?
Photo Credit: Boston.com found via Barstool SportsAbout a month ago, I wrote a post trying to persuade Whalers fans to join the Black & Gold faithful. Today, I saw the first signs that my efforts to encourage fans of The Whale to migrate North may in fact be working when I saw that the guys in the photo above showed up at Fenway. Of course the Sox played like shit yesterday, so maybe we can pin the blame on these guys and the futility that the Whalers logo brings with it. At any rate, the B's fans will welcome lost Connecticut hockey souls with open arms. Remember, the B's organization loves the color green.

Count me among the converted. I can't even bear to call the Not Whalers of Raleigh by their proper name. Karmanos is a curse word in my house, and Verbeek is a compliment of the highest order.
I'd still wear my Whalers sweater to the Garden, but every time I do, I get drunk guys screaming "Whalers!" and "Go Whale!" at me. It's not malicious, but I don't wear it for the attention, so I had to retire it. Props to the drunk guy who started singing the tune of Brass Bonanza and morphed it into La Cucaracha by the end.
Oh, and Pucky > Blades. It's mathematics, and therefore, indisputable.
