Tim Thomas is obviously done forever.

Or, er…Rask won on Saturday, I suppose?

How many times Manny get back to back starts last year?

Granted, Rask isn’t awful like he was.

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 12:57 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, what an awful goalie. He was so bad he won 7 in a row.

Well, until the back injury. Then he basically retired.

What is this? Rene Rancourt doesn’t take holidays. I also just assumed they kept him frozen somewhere near the zamboni entrance

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 1:06 PM EDT reply actions

Rene pretty much only sings “big” games anymore.

Anderson: A pretty good goalie, actually.

That was a giant rebound on the second goal

I agree with Fred Toucher

I think these guys gotta get on the road.

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 1:21 PM EDT reply actions

Longest homestand ever, right? Second longest to start the season was in 1929 or something, if I recall correctly.

Which is late this year, so the second intermission zamboni riders have been clowns for the last couple games.

sloppy…this looks like the 3rd period of my rec league game last night when we only had 7 skaters.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 1:26 PM EDT reply actions

I guess when you have the 5th-best PK in the league (small sample size lol) you can keep taking penalties.

4th Line

still looks the best :-/

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 1:36 PM EDT reply actions

It easy to say that because their job is just to create energy. The expectations are lower, but I have liked what I have seen from that line so far this yr.

I know man Galiardi is hurting right now…..the good old fist check

they are daring us to score on the PP and we can’t

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 1:41 PM EDT reply actions

Bruins: 6th worst PP
Avs: 6th best PK

Anderson is giving up rebounds, the B’s just need to keep throwing shot on net

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 1:42 PM EDT reply actions

They need to get into the middle to get those shots.

The Goalie

What was even better was the reaction of the goalie….he like you have got to be kidding me, that can’t be legal lol

by Dangles-McDonnybrook on Oct 12, 2009 2:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I like Dennis Leary

but Ford should stick to Mike Rowe.

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 2:09 PM EDT reply actions

I am not a fan of Denis Leary. He is a thief. He stole bits from a guy that died of cancer.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 2:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Bill Hicks.

Bill Hicks was better / more provocative. Leary is a bit more watered down, less political.

It’s possible to like both.

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 3:03 PM EDT reply actions

with shame and embarassment…..maybe they just couldn’t resist after after seeing that awesome old dude who motions you into the proshop on the concourse with his foam bear claw.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 3:06 PM EDT up reply actions

One thing I like about Boychuk is that he is not afraid to take that shot from the point and get pucks to the net.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 3:07 PM EDT reply actions

How can you not like this kid aftr today?

by ike6116 on Oct 12, 2009 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions

He comes flying in out of nowhere with a flying horse collar from behind and then steps backs and let’s Looch fight his fight.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Oct 12, 2009 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Sigh. Another half-assed game against another half-assed team. These guys do remember that last year’s success had more to do with effort than skill, don’t they?

by Vermont Netminder on Oct 12, 2009 3:46 PM EDT reply actions

Meh. Avs had two wins in four games coming into today, a team that missed the playoffs last year and finished dead last in the Western Conference, got rebuffed by their first choice of coach in the off-season, didn’t add any significant parts (losing Sakic, Smyth, and Laperrier), and is expected by just about all the pundits and prognosticators to finish at or near the bottom of the West again this season. That’s a game the B’s ought to be able to win at home pretty handily.

by Vermont Netminder on Oct 12, 2009 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions

The Avs probably are overachieving right now, but you still have to give them credit for what they have done so far. It just shows you that any team can win on any night in NHL. You can’t take anyone lightly in the salary cap era.
