Game Preview: Bruins vs Flyers

PrintIn another weird scheduling quirk the Bruins will play another back to back game, tonight against the Flyers. This is the first meeting of the young season for the Bruins and Flyers. The boys in black and gold will look to stabilize their play, while the Flyers will look to snap a 3 game losing streak.
Notes:
-Simon Gagne has yet to score a goal this season, that just made me smile as he is one of my most disliked hockey players
- Riley Cote should worry less about tatooing his fans and more about actually cracking the lineup.
-The Flyers are 5th in the league on the powerplay, clicking at a rate of 27.3%. While there penalty killing is also ranked 5th, killing off 88%.

Gagne most disliked?
Tim, I’m curious. I awoke this morning in PHL…read the sports page…and thought well of Simon Gagne. An hour later I discover from your post that he is a “most disliked hockey player.” Again, just curious, why? He seems to be a solid presence on and off the ice in Philadelphia…compared to the present captain of the Flyers, Mike Richards, who needs a few leadership lessons, especially off the ice.
And BTW, not to fret fellow ChowderHeads, Bruins are sure to go through a few tough weeks or months headed into this winter….but the team should come out of these sure-to-be dark days much stronger mentally, much closer…much more Bruin-like…than they’ve been early this season (where I’d be playing much like they have after reading how ’freakin great they are)…Spring should be promising…a few very talented, well-rested players coming back…a few new young ones with a month or two of real day-in, day-out NHL experience, a few draft picks…spring smells like chowder!
