I’m hearing reports that Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is in the house tonight. Chilling on the 9th floor.

Carcillo on the 1st line is a strange move

The Bruins better be able to beat the Adirondack Phantoms tonight.

Steve Yzerman is in the press box at TD Garden. Watching Patrice Bergeron again? Obviously Mike Richards but?

Stuart should not be trying to carry the puck through 6 guys

The Ference-Wideman pair drives me nuts this year.

The funny thing about “Delay of Game” penalties is that calling the penalty further delays the game.

Nothing has sparked my ire tonight but since i haven’t done an open thread in awhile I am wondering if you guys have noticed Chara has been playing kind of crappy lately.
He is the least of their problems on the blue line right now.

I don’t think the B’s will, but someone probably will
by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Dec 14, 2009 7:26 PM EST up reply actions
Id rank them in terms of consistent defensive play in this order:
1. Stuart
2. Chara
3. Morris
4. Ference
5. Hunwick
6. Boychuck
7.
8.
9.
10. Wideman
Where those empty spaces could be filled in by any Mite C
I’d give Boychuk and incomplete. He really hasn’t gotten enough games to make a good assessment. Hunwick has been disappointing this year. Ference is awful and Wideman has looked nothing like the guy we saw last year.

I have access to the B’s media site and they posted a jersey schedule of when the will wear the thirds and WC jerseys.

NESN conspiracy
I feel like there’s an edict to brick and jack “use baseball terminology whenever you can we need to expand the fan base”
Peter Gammons is the man. It’s awesome that he is coming to NESN.

I just found out I get to skate on the ice at Fenway as part of the media skate with Bruins and Flyers alumni. I’m psyched.

this is going to be a silly question but is skating like riding a bike?
I could ice skate and I could roller blade ( which I did enough as a kid) but ice skating was always few and far between and while I skiied and and could stop on skis I never did ever figure out the snow plow stop on ice skates.
Im tempted to hit up the rink here in walth and find out but I’d feel like a fool being 25 and falling over like a child
Yeah, you can go years without skating and pick it right back up.

K-Tapp needs a geography lesson. Last time I checked Bristol, CT is in New England.
by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Dec 14, 2009 7:53 PM EST reply actions
she also needs to loosen up, I understand not wanting to go the hazel mae / heidi watney route but you don’t have to dress like you’re going to a barn raising every time you’re going to be on TV
K-Tapp likes to keep it classy…unfortunately.

yeah they were still on BCN and sports hub not announced. He mentioned you and Hub Hockey. I picked you because your design was better.
From here I’ve also started reading the hockey blog adventure because I dig Cornelius’ comments in these threads.
That’s funny because the design is the one thing I don’t control.

Taking a moment to pimp my favorite TV show, at around 11:30 on BBC America they’re going to air a repeat of the Top Gear Winter Olympics Ice Hockey Cha. It’s worth watching the show from 11PM, too.
is that when they played hockey with cars?

I usually don’t complain about the refs, but this game has been horrible.
by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Dec 14, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions
Stuff like that makes me wonder. With the Classic coming up and Philadelphia clearly not being up to snuff as a team, it’s a little convenient that a game would be called this bad, with much of it in their favor, in the last matchup before the big one.
I guess it’s ridiculous to believe in a full-on conspiracy, but the call from Toronto on that goal is just a little suspicious.
