They should over-sell tickets to the first round games and have general admission sections because not everybody goes to both games.

I love how the BU PA announcer always adds in an unneccessary article before things “a #10 Chris Higgins”.

I like the TC & Brick announcer duo. NESN might want to take a look at that for B’s games.

C’mon Harvard! Gotta rep the ECAC over those Hockey East boys.
I always wanted them to set up a CT-version of the Beanpot with Quinnipiac, Yale, UConn, and Sacred Heart. It could rotate buildings every year… it’d never rival the Beanpot but it’d still be damn cool and maybe make college hockey a little bigger in CT.

They could even hold it at the Civic Center in Hartford, or whatever the hell it’s called these days.

It’s nice to see Northeastern with a good team. It just makes for a better college hockey scene in Boston.

Harvard got screwed
BU’s first and fourth goal came on questionable stick infractions… in both cases, the BU player held onto the Harvard player’s stick. There may have been stick infractions but BU deserved matching penalties for holding the stick.
Shame for Harvard… they deserved better.
by BobbyOrrsBastard on Feb 2, 2009 7:31 PM EST reply actions
I give them credit. They hung around. I’m not sure I would say they got screwed though.
by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Feb 2, 2009 7:34 PM EST up reply actions
Those were certainly tough penalty calls, especially the first PPG for BU. The BU D most definitely held his stick and pulled away from the Harvard guy to sell it. Just sad to see game decided by such calls, though I should qualify that statement by saying I didn’t see the first two goals of the game to know their legitimacy.
by BobbyOrrsBastard on Feb 2, 2009 7:37 PM EST up reply actions
Besides, I am an NU guy so I have to be vehemently opposed to anything BU and will always feel sympathy for fellow underdogs Harvard.

What a first game!
BU survives the scare from Harvard and advances to the final.
BC-Northeastern next.

GOAL!
5 on 3 score for GInand, NU’s leading scorer. Beat Muse high glove-side from the hard angle shot
by BobbyOrrsBastard on Feb 2, 2009 8:31 PM EST reply actions
Apparently you are a BU fan…
NU dominating BC 5-1 after two. Thiessen is standing on his head (38 of 39) while Muse has had a couple of bad decisions lead to goals. Bradford attempted to spice things up by blatantly charging into Thiessen with the puck covered up… didn’t even slow down! Somehow, the NU D gets tossed while Bradford is allowed to remain the game… not sure how that works.
by BobbyOrrsBastard on Feb 2, 2009 10:23 PM EST reply actions
I just wanted to relax and the watch the second game. But, yes I am a BU fan.
Thiessen was awesome tonight. Chisholm definitely threw some punches in that pile up but I don’t blame him for defending his goaltender after Bradford blatantly ran into him.
I was very impressed with NU tonight. The Terriers will have their work cut out for them next week.
by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Feb 2, 2009 11:53 PM EST up reply actions
Understandable, especially being a Terriers fan.
I had no problem with Chisholm being tossed, I just thought Bradford deserved it as well… even the guy at USCHO said his intent was clear there. In fact, Chisholm acted exactly as I would want my senior D doing, especially with the game already having been decided.
I just hope NU can take down BU on Monday… Lord knows they deserve it!

BU needs to get back to .500 in the Beanpot.
