Bruins trade Nokelainen to Ducks for Montador
The Bruins have traded forward Petteri Nokelainen to the Anaheim Ducks in exhange for defenseman Steve Montador.

I love this trade. The Bruins got better on the blue line without messing with the core of the team and added some physicality to the D-corps. This also seems like a great move chemistry-wise as well. Montador is close friends with Andrew Ference, who he has done some charity work with.

gotta love thug life
The defenseman is not known for his scoring, picking up just 18 goals and 49 assists in 355 career games. He’s racked up 586 penalty minutes and has a career plus-minus rating of plus-8.

whither Stuart?
Barring another trade, it looks like Stuart’s riding the pine. We know Julien’s not going to bench Hnidy… anything short of throwing the puck into his own net and flipping off the bench won’t affect Hnidy getting 20 minutes. So Stuart gets scratched and Hunwick’s off to Providence.
Threadjack… TSN just reported the acquisition of Mark Recchi. That’s pretty nice.
