Bruins get Recchi & 2nd rd pick for Lashoff and Karsums
The Bruins have dealt defenseman Matt Lashoff and forward Martins Karsums to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forward Mark Recchi and a 2010 second round draft pick.
Bruins get:
2010 2nd Round Pick
Lightning get:
The Bruins' goals coming into the trade deadline were to add some depth on defense and get a veteran winger with a left-handed shot who can help out the power play. Ideally, the B's wanted to do this without disrupting the core of the team. I think Peter Chiarelli has accomplished what he and his hockey ops people set out to do today.

What were the upsides of Lashoff and Karsums?
I thought they had some promise, will they turn into NHLers?

A lot of promise for both those guys. Lashoff has an all-around game and is a former 1st rounder. Unfortunately, Lashoff didn’t develop as quickly as some in the organization had hoped. Both of these guys will be full-time NHLers though.

Line-Ups
Anyone have any opinions on how Claude Julien will set the line-ups with the new additions? Fluto on the b’s blog at boston.com threw out these suggestions for the regular lines and power plays:
