I am kind of surprised that the Bruins didn’t call anyone up from Providence today.

im surprised too……..i figured that sobotka or boychuk would be up

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 6:33 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

They now have no one left that is healthy besides the guys that are in the lineup tonight.

I got an email from a French language radio station to answer some questions about the series. I did it because I am a huge media whore. Since my understanding of French is somewhat limited I will have no idea what kind of slanderous thing will be said about me on the air.

I have a question how can they change a game misconduct to a match penalty AFTER the game???

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 6:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

thanks bud…….its just something that i had been thinking about since saturday…….and the more i thought about it the more it made sense…………i think maybe it was the same kind of situation as when Chiarelli asked that the league review the tape after game 1, maybe the Canadiens brass asked the league to look at the Lucic hit

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 6:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Well, if it is a match penalty, the league has to look at the tape.

i meant to put this in my post earlier today……..i did some math since i was home playing Xbox all day………Carey Price has a career GAA in playoff road games of 3.85

wow brick totally forgot the hairgel on this trip – hahaha he looks like he got mugged

by andie on Apr 20, 2009 6:46 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I did notice that. With this economy, NESN just couldn’t afford to fly the hair and makeup people up to Montreal.

Ryan the Purse-snatching Turtle is in the lineup for the Habs.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 6:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

damn! damn damn damn! gainey’s onto the fact that that “hot tip” came from a bruins fan.

in good news, however, they are starting pleks (ahahaha) and demoting metropolit to the 4th line….despite the fact that he’s been one of their best players in the series thus far.

oh montreal….will they ever learn how to properly structure a lineup? i sure hope not!

by andie on Apr 20, 2009 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bruins Lines

The B’s line will be the same as I reported earlier today. Bish has Bitz on the left wing, while Fluto has him on the right wing.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 6:53 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

wow, way to stay classy montreal

by andie on Apr 20, 2009 7:13 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

There were definitely boos mixed in there. I hate when fans on both side make it US vs.Canada

Tim Thomas is unreal right now.

defense in front could be better.

Booing Chara every time he touches the puck is beyond played out

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 7:33 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

thomas should have had that

by andie on Apr 20, 2009 7:33 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

he wouldn’t have had to make to try to make a save if Savvy doesn’t turn the puck over.

great play by montador

by andie on Apr 20, 2009 7:47 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

they had better find some way to get kessel resigned for atleast 4-6 years

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 7:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Over krejci, though?

by Cornelius Hardenbergh on Apr 20, 2009 8:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If it comes down to Krejci or Kessel, I say let Kessel walk. Krejci is a more complete player.

Me too

But both are awesome.

i would rather see them trade axelsson, kobasew, ward to make room to keep them both

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 8:05 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If you have one-way forwards like Kessel and Savard you need guys like Axelsson

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 8:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Kobasew and Axelsson are awesome.

Wow.

Bitz

is really playing well tonight. Throwing his body around per usual.

Nope.

But he’ll keep stopping it most of the time.

Jack Edwards stealing our material now???

Is he lurking on the open thread in the broadcast booth?

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 8:46 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

if he was smart he would be

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

by HoneyBunchOfOates on Apr 20, 2009 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hahah nice. Maybe he’s blog browsing. They’re not related, are they?

by HoneyBunchOfOates on Apr 20, 2009 8:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

ev, while i will defend to the death your right to say it, i disagree with your analysis of Kessel and more specifically Savard as one way players……..i think Savard has gotten lightyears better on the defensive end of his game……and while not exactly a cadidate for a Selke trophy i dont think kessel is a liability

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 8:49 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I agree that they have both improved in their own end this year.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 8:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

….but

Those guys have 31 hits combined this season (6 for Kessel) and rank # 3 and 4 in giveaways on the Bruins.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 8:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Savard and kessel do lead the bruins in playoff scoring, though.

by Cornelius Hardenbergh on Apr 20, 2009 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

while ranking that high in giveaways isnt exactly a good thing, i think that they are both more often then not pretty sound positionaly when playing in their defensive zone……..i know neither player is a crux of the PK ( although kessel did get alot of PK minutes down the stretch)……….basically i think it comes down to role on the team…with the amount of time Kessel and Savard have the puck over the course of the year in relation to the role they play in the offense i dont think that being #3 and 4 in giveaways is that big of a problem…..i dont think the Bruins look at either of those guys to be their defensive leaders, they definitely have the Bergerons and the Axelssons of the world who they would value higher when it comes to defense…….

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 9:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

True, I was stretching to find some sort of statistical proof but I failed.

I still think both players could improve in their own end of the rink.

by Stanley Cup of Chowder on Apr 20, 2009 9:08 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Price has been giving up alot of rebounds

by timmorrison23 on Apr 20, 2009 8:50 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I haven’t read as many Ryder sucks columns coming out of Montreal as the series has progressed.

great win

by the boys! Let’s take care of business and wrap things up next game.

Kobasew’s ENG was my favorite of the night. Yes, it was from two feet out, but he just wanted the puck more.
