Why did the B's open the injury info flood gates now?
Claude Julien, Peter Chiarelli & Co. make Bill Belichick look like a blabbermouth when it comes to releasing information about injuries. There was a pandemic of undisclosed injuries in the Bruins' room this year. Most of the time, you were lucky to know if it was an upper or lower body injury. So, why are the Bruins now telling the entire world every detail about every injury? Are they making excuses for losing in the second round? Were they inspired by Joe Biden giving up the location of the VP's secret bunker? Are they trying to make the rest of the league think that Kessel and Krejci are damaged goods to drive down their market value?

Isn't it obvious
to help eulogize the season, it makes the blow of losing a bit softer even though everyone feels like we should have won.
Also probably to try to help re-sign Kessel and Krecji. Kill their value a bit.
Nothing to be gained from it. During the season, injuries are kept quiet to prevent the opposition from exploiting possible weaknesses. Now it doesn’t matter.
Also makes sense to come out with the surgical information since it is obviously going to come out eventually. Driving down the price is certainly a possible reason as well.

I get why they don’t release info during the year, but I also think that every move they make is calculated. They are going to be right up against the cap and I highly doubt they can bring back both Krejci and Kessel, so they may want the rest of the league to think that they are damaged goods to lower their market value. I think Kessel has played his last game in black & gold, but we’ll see.

Uh, because EVERY team that’s eliminated from the playoffs releases their injury list? That’s pretty much SOP; we heard the details of Montreal’s injuries, for example, after they were knocked out. And don’t you remember the news about Chara’s labrum surgery being released after the Montreal series last year?
I know conspiracy theories are fun, but nobody in their right mind would let the opposition know that Phil Kessel was playing with a destroyed shoulder, or that Kobasew had broken ribs. I mean, come on, that’s just common sense.
