Earlier in the year, Manny Fernandez hinted that this could be his last season before calling it quits in the off-season. At breakup day at the TD Banknorth Garden, Fernandez seemed to be leaning towards continuing to play (if healthy) and trying to shop himself around in the off-season. From Stephen Harris' article in this morning's Herald: "If I can play, I’d want to play," Fernandez said as he collected his equipment at TD Banknorth Garden. "We’ll see what happens, we’ll see what’s on the table. I think you have to keep your options open to a certain degree. Back when I said that (about the future), obviously my back wasn’t holding up. . . . My point then was that if I can’t go through a season without having to take a break, there’s no sense in coming back. But after we got it injected, it really felt better for the long haul. I have to talk to the doctors now and make sure of everything. I want to see what they think happened."
