Glen Murray saga over, but...
According to Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe, an arbitrator has ruled that the Boston Bruins are not obligated to pay an additional $1.4 million to Glen Murray. The former B's winger claimed that the Bruins were not allowed to buyout his contract because he was hurt at the time. Unfortunately, the Bruins will now have to take a $1.383 million cap hit next season for Murray's buyout. Had the arbitrator ruled in favor of Murray, there would be no cap hit in '09-'10. So, I guess the Bruins kind of lost by winning this arbitration case. The only winner here is old man Jacobs, who gets to keep an extra $1.4 million.
