Tim Wharnsby of The Globe & Mail reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in trading for Peter Schaefer. Huh? I thought Brian Burke teams were big and tough. Maybe Burke has lost his mind or maybe he is just playing a cruel joke on the Toronto media. By all accounts, Schaefer's play in Providence this season did not earn him a ticket back to The Show, especially not with his $2.1 million salary. Peter Chiarelli and the Boston Bruins would be smart to get whatever they can for this guy because I don't see him contributing to the big club anytime soon.
