Bruins announce '09-'10 schedule
The NHL released its regular season schedule today. For the first time since 2005, the Bruins will open their season at home, when they play host to the Washington Capitals at the TD Bank Garden on October 1st. The team will play 5 games on home ice before the circus comes to town and forces the boys in black & gold to hit the road for a short two game road trip.
The highlight for most fans will be the Winter Classic game played at Fenway Park against the Philadelphia Flyers on New Year's Day. The Bruins will also participate in the Centennial Game against the Montreal Canadiens on December 4th to celebrate the Habs' 100th anniversary (Apparently when you are the Montreal Canadiens, you get to celebrate your birthday for 2 years).
Schedule Highlights
Opening Night: Thursday, October 1st vs. Washington 7:00 PM
Scott Walker & the Hurricanes return to Boston: Saturday, October 3rd vs. Carolina 7:00 PM
Habs Games:
Thursday, October 5th vs. Montreal 7:00 PM
Friday, December 4th @ Montreal 8:00 PM Centennial Game
Thursday, February 4th vs. Montreal 7:00 PM
Sunday, February 7th @ Montreal 3:00 PM
Tuesday, March 2nd vs. Montreal 7:00 PM
Saturday, March 13th @ Montreal 7:00 PM
2010 Winter Classic at Fenway Park: Friday, January 1st vs. Philadelphia 1:00 PM

I just realized how packed in the NHL schedule is this year because of the Olympic break. B’s are playing pretty much every other night.

This season is going to be amazing..
Bruins with high expectations and the roster to meet them!
Winter Classic at Fenway!
Olympics and getting to see Tim Thomas and (hopefully still a Bruin) Phil Kessel rep USA!
For now, all I can do to get my puck fix is SCoC, Puckdaddy, and many many games of NHL09.

USA! USA! USA!
The Olympics are going to own. I’ll probably be working a bit of an earlier shift to get in more hockey.

Likely a BU/BC men’s game and an NU/UNH women’s game at the Classic.

I heard January 8th for the BU-BC game and haven’t anything about a NU-UNH women’s game. When is that supposed to happen. I would think they would package that with the BU-BC game. Even with the novelty of Fenway Park, I can’t see that many fans turning out to see women’s college hockey.
