Bruins re-sign Mark Recchi

TSN is reporting that the Bruins have re-signed winger Mark Recchi to a one year, $1 million contract. Recchi recorded 61 points last season (23 goals, 38 assists). In 18 regular season games with the Bruins, Recchi had 10 goals and 6 assists. This will be Recchi's 21st season in the NHL

as i said in the comments in the post below, I’m really glad the Bruins got this deal done. 1 mil is a great bargain for a player of his caliber. He played awesome for us last year and I think he’s a great fit.

It’s too bad this makes us that much further from signing Kessel, but I’m happy either way.

1 million still leaves us with 4-5 million in cap space. Recchi was awesome for the Bruins for however many games, this is totally worth it.

That pennisula on his head has broken off from the mainland and turned into an island.

Now he just needs to grow the rest out and he’s in Iafrate territory.

Very few can pull off the bald mullet. Al Iafrate was among the elite few:

Truly, the greatest tragedy of Chara setting the new record is not getting that clip on TV every year.

Good to have the Recchi ball back. team is rounding out well so far. Hunwick and Kessel still loom, or their replacements.

great deal

1 million for 1 year is money well spent on a guy like him. Glad he didn’t wind up just being a “playoff rental.”

Pitt fans may have varied opinions on the guy, especially given the fact that he played for them on three separate occasions, but no one will ever say one bad thing about his leadership. For $1 mill you guys get a lot from a guy like Recchi.
