What will the Bruins Winter Classic jerseys look like?

Kevin Paul Dupnot reported in this morning's Boston Globe that the Bruins are working with Reebok to design a jersey for the 2010 NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park. A design will likely be selected by the end of August. They have gone through and looked at every uniform that the team has worn throughout their history and will either select a retro jersey or create a new jersey using elements from different historic jerseys. While we don't know what the jersey design will look like, I think it is safe to say that we won't be seeing the "Smiling Pooh Bear" on January 1st.

I would like to go on record and say that I am campaigning for the Bruins go with this Eddie Shore era, number on the front design:

I doubt that they will choose this look though, because they need to select a jersey that will sell well. The problem with this design is that fans would be forced to buy a more expensive player-specific jersey as opposed to a blank team jersey.

My second choice would be these sweaters:

what i would do is to take your second choice but use their current second logo on the front with black and gold stripes down the side…think that would look pretty nasty putting a current twist on a retro jersey

I think they have to go all the way retro and wear a jersey that they actually wore.

I’d be partial to something gold, nobody in the NHL uses that color for a jersey anymore. How awesome would this sweater look on the ice?

Personally, I think the new uniforms started 2 season ago are lame. I much prefer the unifroms from the mid 90’s until 2 seasons ago. as far as the “Smokey the bear” matinee look? At least it had the Bruin’s logo and had lots of gold in it.

The new third jersey sucks period end. No imagination and WAY too much Black.
and, they wear it too many times!

Also, I think the NHL needs to go back to the white uniforms at home. Just my opinion.

On another note, i DO like the look of this old time sweater. THAT should be the alternative uniform. Not that the black crap we have now.

With the Flyers only going back to ‘67 I don’t think it would look right to put the B’s in a 20’s / 30’s jersey and Philly in even a ‘67 which they wear now anyway – Sadly the B’s home jersey is basically the ‘67 look also – I’d love to see the old time look out there…I just hope they get it right

I like the gold colour but do not like that bear emblom …. looks too much like the California state flag. Thus I would say replace the bear with the traditional B emblom.

I hope they don’t have a lame faux-retro jersey with the new logo. They are an Original 6 team with a lot of history. If there was a time to celebrate their history, this is it.
