Bruins add Reading as ECHL affiliate

The Bruins announced today that the Reading Royals (Reading, PA) will serve as their ECHL affiliate. The Royals will continue to serve as an affiliate for the Toronto Maple Leafs as well. For those of you that are not familiar with the ECHL, the ECHL is step below the AHL (think AA if it were baseball).

Time to change that color scheme?

Probably not, as it’s not the AHL affiliate and we share it with Toronto. Unless you think Black and Gold and Blue and White can all peacefully coexist on a jersey…

Just needs a little black.

Not that team colors matter THAT much, it’s just weird for them to still have a Kings palette after this long.

It hasn't been that long.
They were the kings affiliate starting in 2001. Just last year they switched to being primarily leafs and secondarily kings affiliates. So this is the first year that they haven’t been affiliates with the kings at all.

Ah, I thought they had dropped the Kings before last year. In any case, Sweden jerseys would look sweeeeet next to those roller-hockey designs they use in the ECHL.
