Kessel won't negotiate with Bruins

Stay connected for news and updates

Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe is reporting that Phil Kessel and his agent Wade Arnott do not intend to continue negotiations with the Boston Bruins. Arnott told the Bruins organization that he and his client are now focused on signing an offer sheet with another team.

The Bruins do still have the right to match an offer sheet. However, the way things are looking, I think Kessel's days on Causeway are numbered.

Look for the Bruins to try to make a deal to move Kessel in the very near future before he fields any offer sheets and the B's lose the right to trade him. I don't think the Bruins or Kessel want this distraction to linger on much longer as they prepare for the upcoming season. Toronto, Nashville, and the New York Rangers have all reportedly made offers to GM Peter Chiarelli for the young forward this offseason.
