Did Tim Thomas ruin the Winter Classic surprise?

A poster on HFBoards posted a picture of Tim Thomas getting ready to do some promotional shoots in New York this week. Hanging out of a bag next to Thomas was a gold jersey. The jersey appears to be what the Bruins will be wearing for the NHL Winter Classic (must have a HFBoards account to view photo). Unfortunately, it looks like they went with the faux retro look. Unless I am mistaken, I don't believe that the Bruins ever wore this jersey. It looks like a variation of the gold jerseys worn during the 60's, but with a more stylized "B" from the late 40's.
