In the Boston cookbook, most of its tasty concoctions based on defensive ingredients, Kessel is viewed as that little sprig of parsley that makes the plate look better but really doesn’t factor into whether the meal is a true success.

I would say Kessel is more of a slice of pepperoni on a pizza. Some people prefer the basic bread-sauce-cheese only, and that usually gets the job done, but occasionally the pepperoni can add the spice to kick it up a notch. But it usually disagrees with you later.
(I gotta watch more Iron Chef.)

Arencale, would that pepperoni be on a slice at halftime pizza?

Y’know, in college I spent a couple of summers delivering mail out of the JFK Post Office on New Chardon St., and I’d be on Causeway often and I think I even delivered once to Halftime, but I never went in there. So, unfortunately, no. In my mind, it was pizza from Morgan Dining Hall, at my alma mater WPI (2 whole years out and I still am adjusting to not having pizza every single day).
Halftime Pizza is an awesome place to get a big beer and a slice or two of pizza before a game.
Also they show hockey fight videos on loop. They know their audience.

The slices are OK but the location and hockey fights videos are great.

Cornelius I agree I have never been a fan of KPD either, the man is a hack and next will probably focus his attention on Savard.
Say what you will about some of his opinions, but KPD is far from a hack.

He’s definitely not a hack. He’s just very pessimistic.
