NESN.com is reporting that there is "a very solid rumor" that the Bruins are close to signing free agent left winger Miroslav Satan. The 35-year old Slovakian was waived by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the end of last year and did not find a new home in the off-season. Satan netted 17 goals in 65 games for Pittsburgh last season.

Although the terms of the rumored deal are not known, the potential cap hit for a move like this seems pretty low and far outweighs the risk. Don't expect him to score 35-40 goals like he did a few years, but it doesn't hurt to have another veteran that was the ability to put the puck in the net.
