I woke up this morning and said….“Well…. it’s time to keep my ear to the ground on any trades coming down the pipe”
Any trade with Atlanta had better involve Kovalchuck.
How about
Toronto’s 1st rounder and Ryder
for
Kovalchuck and Enstrom
That doesn’t work. Ryder makes $4 million against the cap. Kovalchuk makes $7.5 million and Enstrom makes $3 million this year and is locked up until ‘12-’13. If even if this move made sense cap-wise, the Thrashers would never make that deal.

I don’t see anyone taking on those salaries.

Maybe, until june when the playoffs are over and kovalchuk doesn’t re-sign and we’ve dumped a draft pick and 2 NHL players.

Who out there is actually going to be available? I know Kovalchuk, but every team from 10th-4th place in either conference is going to be bidding on him. Are there even any other high-scoring forwards who teams would be willing to unload?
I don’t think the Bruins will be making a major move. I think they want to keep the core of this team in place and their current salary issues make a blockbuster deal even more difficult. I think you might see 1 or 2 smaller deals to improve the team like they did last year at the deadline when they brought in Mark Recchi.

This team needs more than one or two pieces to win the cup. I don’t think this year is the year right now. But that could be football hangover talking.

Just a thought
As much as i would like to see the bruins make some sort of deal, without hurting our core, I don’t think its going to happen. If we do wait until the draft with the way Toronto is playing right now it’s almost a given top 5 pick. Am I saying we should take that chance? No. Theres not much room we have to deal with so someones gonna have to go. I wouldn’t mind gving up Wideman in a trade for a scoring forward. I like Wideman don’t get me wrong he just hasn’t played to what we need him to play to. As much as I would like to see the B’s get a number 1 overall pick I don;t see those picks getting anymore value then now. Just use then wisely.
Ward back to boston?!
Rumors around ward that he is unhappy being back in carolina and that he wants back to boston.
This has been true since he’s been traded. He’s a bit expensive, you know.
