Bruins vs. Blue Jackets

Let me start by saying, Dean Morton should be FINED by the league for a terrible call!  Not ONLY did this Referee get the wrong stick, he got the wrong person AND to top things off, 2 minor penalties, are you fricken kidding.  There wasn't even any blood.  Morton should be fined and 3 game suspension.  Really makes me wonder if certain refs. are betting on these games.  Shame on you Morton, these are people's jobs you are messing with along with the fans paying big money for their seats.

Now let's talk Mike Milbury, does this guy have any POSITIVE things to say about the Bruins.  Now I see why he is not a coach anymore or in charge of any organized hockey teams.  Tell it like it is, well Mikey, let me tell you how it is.  I've read up on your past, letting go many great prospects from the past when you were with the Islanders, not very smart now are you.  Nice record by the way, did you ever get close to .500.  All you can do is criticize Danny Paille (at least 15 times) for his, so called bad line change in the post game of the Bruins/Blue Jackets game.  You suck as an announcer and you sucked as a player.  You are a disgrace to the Bruins organization.  You belong in the penalty box with ref. Dean Morton for several days, until both of you can figure out your bad calls and negative attitudes.  Furthermore, let the fans boo Wideman all they want, they pay big money to watch something they love and take to heart.  Wideman is a pro, he needs to STOP making ridiculous mistakes.  Maybe he needs to stop playing so relaxed and start playing smart defense, he'll improve his game.  And maybe your feelings got hurt back when you played and got boo'ed (just maybe you deserved getting boo'ed), the way you talked in the post game, how the fans shouldn't boo, well, suck it up and be a MAN.   I have two words for you Mikey, "Retirement Home!"

In real time, it was very easy to make the wrong call on that play. That was an honest mistake. It was unfortunate, but I don’t think it is a situation where the official should be punished.

I think the double-minor high sticking is one of the worst rules in sports, but it is the rule. It did look like the stick did cut Brassard. The common misconception about this rule is that the player has to draw blood. The rule is written that if the play results in injury, the extra 2 minutes is given.

I have always like Milbury as an analyst because he pulls no punches and he speaks his mind. I don’t always agree with him, but he knows the game and gives his honest opinion.

As for the booing thing, this is the only thing I agree with you about. The Bruins aren’t playing to their potential right now and they should be held accountable.

Geez, how do I respond to this. Hmmm, this sounds like Milbury’s mother speaking now OR a non-hockey playing liberal tree hugger.

When it comes to talking/venting about these refs., I am talking about just a select few, not all. Please, an honest mistake?? This ref is 12 feet away from the play and you are telling me this is an honest mistake. This ref has a BET on the game. AND just like the players get fined for their “honest mistakes” the refs. should be looked at and held accountable for their job on and off the ice also. Do your job Morton or get off the ice.

Back to Milbury, that’s great that you like him, but I don’t and my father never has either. I also speak my mind, but I have the facts to back it up. Listen to Milbury a little closer and you will hear the negativity coming from him as he speaks about the Bruins. Yeah, I’ll give you he knows the game, to some extent, but he isn’t coaching or GM of a team for many reasons.

It is unfortunate that the Bruins can’t seem to stay healthy for a long period of time. Again the double minor was a terrible call against Lucic and Dean Morton should be talked to. ENOUGH SAID.

Going to have to side with Stanley on the “honest mistake” part. I mean referees have to look out for the safety of the players on the ice. Morton saw, I believe it was Brassard, get hit in the face with a stick, and from where he was on the ice I can see why he thought it was Lucic’s. Referees want to enforce the double minor high sticking rule, because a high stick to the face can cause serious injury possibly ending careers (off the top of my head… P.J. Stock’s career was ended due to a high stick, and Bryan Berard’s was almost ended due to high sticking) Unfortunately the call was wrong and went against us, but I understand why the call was made. Morton should not be talked to, because the call was made in regards to the safety of a player.

In regards to Milbury, I can side with both of you. I think he knows a lot about how the game is played, and is a pretty damn good analyst….but should never be allowed to talk about or hold a position in management (ie: GM). He made some pretty awful moves in his time as a general manager, excluding the Palffy deal cause that was upper managements fault. He made a series of awful deals/trades, which will forever rank him to me as one of the worst GM’s i’ve been around for (I’m not going to say he’s one of the worst all time, because I’m still fairly young and don’t know much about many of the GM’s before let’s say 2000). I honestly can’t listen to him talk about what teams should do in regards to personnel, due to his awful history of player management. My rule of thumb is if Milbury says it, it’s either a bad deal or will never happen.
