Warning to Boston Cabbies: Carry extra change. Patrick Kane & the Blackhawks are in town
The Bruins will host the Chicago Blackhawks at TD Garden Thursday night with the puck drop scheduled for 7:00. The Bruins will try to carry the momentum from their 4-1 win over Ottawa on Tuesday night into this contest. The Blackhawks enter the game riding a 4-game win streak and are currently sitting atop the Western Conference standings with a record of 30-10-4.

Notes:
- The Blackhawks announced that Antti Niemi will get the start in goal.
- Patrick Kane Sign Contest: If you are going to the game, don't be afraid to make a sign poking fun at Patrick Kane. If anyone takes pics of these signs, I'll post them on the site.
- Former Bruins skating guru Paul Vincent is in his 2nd season as the Blackhawks skating coach.
- The Bruins will be without defenseman Andrew Ference for the next 6 weeks due to a groin injury.
- I would guess Tim Thomas would get the start for the B's...but who knows...
- Puck drops at 7:00 and can be seen on NESN. Public Skate open thread starts right here at 6:30.

all right, the Kane jokes are a little old...
…but I expect fans in every city the Blackhawks travel to this year to make them. actually I’d feel let down if they didn’t.
I was at the Bruins-Hawks game last month and it was terrific. Visiting Boston right now and I’ll be at this game too. I’m a fan of both teams but wanted the Hawks to win last time (my ideal was 5-4 in OT…and it was 5-4 in a shootout).
really hoping it’s Rask, I want to see the battle of the excellent backup Finnish goalies…
a little chippy: hockey, mostly

Wow, Versteeg is one tough broad.

KofC…I agree, I’d love to see Niemi vs Rask. Those two have kept my goaltending afloat all year in my fantasy league…when they get to play! Awesome numbers for both. What’s up with Finland and goalies, I wonder? Kiprusoff…Lehtinen…Rinne…a lot of good goalies per capita. Anyhow, I also would like some feedback on a fantasy strategy I’m using now. I already had Niemi and Rask, but my goaltending was dragging me down. I am killing everyone in offence, though. So, I traded Stamkos for Huet, and Iginla for Thomas, so I now own all four goalies for the Bruins and Hawks. I still have guys like Semin, Kovalchuk, and some guy named Crosby. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised with my drafts of Plekanec, Fisher and Doughty. I have Chara and Boyle on defence as well. Stastny and Stewart for Colorado…Eriksson for Dallas…see, I still have a decent team. So, one of my brothers thinks I got “hosed” on this Thomas-Iginla deal, even after I explained my stategy to him. Opinions, anyone?
...and yet, still consistantly choosing a bottle in front of me rather than a frontal lobotomy.
The only thing that is driving me nuts now is trying to find out WHO is starting in goal each night, and when all four of my goalies are playing, in the SAME GAME, it is kinda important as I need to set two starters for each night. Julien is bad for never announcing it ahead of time. Any ideas? I once heard of a site that names the starters, but don’t remember the name. Oh ya, my fantasy team? I also have Bergeron! Damn it!!!LoL. The guy is kinda injury prone, unfortunately.

The Blackhawks announced Niemi as the starter yesterday. Usually boston.com posts which goalie left the ice first at the morning skate (if there is a morning skate).
