Globe Report: Savard passes exertion test
According to Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe, Marc Savard has passed an exertion test and has been cleared to begin skating again. The veteran centerman can also begin lifting and increasing the intensity of his bike workouts as he tries to work his way back from dealing with post-concussion symptoms.
The road back from this type of head injury is a long one, but this is a small step in the right direction for Savvy.

He (probably) will…it’s just a matter of when it happens.

Glad to hear it but....
At this point i don’t know if i want him taking over 1st line center duties. Lucic Krecji and Horton are tearing it up. Also bergy is doing well in second line so i wouldn’t put him there and there’s no point of pushing Seguin to line 4 and he and recchi and ryder are also doing good. Honestly at this point Savy to me is purely trade bait if teams want to bite, unless the B’s start to spiral into a losing streak
Yeah, but imagine adding a PPG player to the team right now.

adding a PPG player would be great
but where would he fit in? I mean unless they plan on moving Seguin to Winger like previously stated in Pre season and dumping Ryder in minors, idk i think it will be very interesting to see what the situation brings when savy comes back. If the Bruins r struggling he will be instantly put back in but idk what will happen if the Bruins are chugging along scoring goals and winning games. This will be fun to watch

I doubt that Savard will be a PPG player when he initially comes back.

Also, I’m glad we’ve finally got a new SeriousSavard.jpg for these articles.

Seguin’s strong play and Krejci’s performance as first line center at least makes one consider the possibility that Savard could be the one to move to wing, and not Seguin. Having fewer defensive responsibilities might help Savard (never the best defensive player) be eased back in more slowly, and his skills at passing from the half-wall are best utilized on the wing. What’s more, it’s not like we’d be losing a great face-off man; Bergeron and Krejci are both better on the draw.
I don’t know that I’d do it that way, but I’d give it some thought.
Free Brad Marchand!
Savard at wing? When was the last time that even happened? Although, now that you mention it…
