Krejci has "moderate concussion"
Bruin GM Peter Chiarelli announced that David Krejci has been diagnosed with a moderate concussion. Krejci left Saturday night's 2-1 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues in overtime after getting his bell rung by T.J. Oshie. There is no time table for Krejci's return, however the initial word is that he will miss at least a week.

Meh. Too bad, the top line had been playing well.

So he’ll be out a week or so, unless he forgets how to get to the garden, then it might be a bit longer?

I’ll admit – I’ll be happy if he’s back inside a month.

Bad Luck
This is going to be a very large problem. There is a world of difference between a healthy Krejci and Krejci playing at less than 100%. His return last season after the surgery was lackluster at best – he certainly was not a number 1 or 1A center.
The Bruins should give him all the time he needs to get back to 100%. A week is absolutely stupid. If he plays before Christmas I will be surprised. He looked really, really confused when he was helped off of the ice.
The hit looked clean to me – it looked like Krejci intiated the contact.
Hope he feels better.
Correct me if you are more knowledgeable on the topic than I am, but is it true that once you have sustained a concussion you are more susceptible to get another one? It’s scary that the top 3 centers have all had their brains scrambled at one point or another. Is there any kind of time table for Savy’s return? We haven’t heard much about him other than he’s skating. I know Sturm is looking to be back around December. Hopefully Savy is back by then if not sooner and Boychuk is in the mix too.
Yes, that’s correct, concussions are easier to get as you get more of them. There’s no way to make a timetable for Savard since it’s a matter of “he’ll be back when he’s back.”

Thanks for confirming that. I just read PC’s comments about Savard. It seems like he is close to being ready but not quite there yet. Anyone think cap issues have something to do with Savy’s return?
Cap issues have something to do with everything in this league, but I don’t think it’s anything like Savard is doing perfectly fine and they’re holding him out for that. They’re probably not pressuring him to come back sooner than he should, though.
Which isn’t a bad thing.

Idea to reduce injuries
It looks like Krejci hit his head on the dasher after the hit. Would it make any sense to eliminate the daser or maybe use a shallow angle like 30 degrees to transition from the glass to the boards? It would reduce the surface area that can catch a player. With today’s glass the dasher no longer seems to be necessary except for increasing leverage in when battling along the boards.
