NESN (via this blog) has this incredible photo of a model of a 1964 proposal for a domed stadium and arena by South Station and the Fort Point Channel, not far, coincidentally, from where the 1990's sports megaplex proposals were to be located. The Bruins, who have long owned the Garden, were not pleased with the idea of paying the Commonwealth rent when they got plenty of profits at North Station. So thank you, Bruins, for stopping this monstrosity from occuring.
