Lucic's disciplinary hearing with NHL scheduled for Sunday
According to a tweet by TSN's Darren Dreger, Milan Lucic will meet with the league to determine a possible suspension or fine stemming from his actions in the third period brawl in last night's 4-1 win over the Atlanta Thrashers. Lucic was given a match penalty, which means an automatic one-game suspension (suspension can be overturned after hearing).
"@DarrenDreger Lucic discipline hearing on Sunday (Boxing Day) for punching Meyer in the scrum last night. Mike Murphy will handle hearing."

Meyer did not receive a match penalty.

He should have
that was a cheap, uncalled for hit.

It was borderline high at best. Watch it again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cCnaxHx9bk
Jack geeked out about it, but it wasn’t really that dirty of a hit. He finishes a bit high, but nothing worthy of a suspension.

I think it was. He intentionally went for the head.

Right around 4:08 there is a good view of what looks like forearm to the face, close to an elbow. An angry Looch grabs his chin when he hits the ice.
Looks cheap to me and I’m very thankful for it. Later there’s a great shot of Lucic’s sucker punch with the linesman holding myers arms.
A game suspension and/or Fine are OK with me, I love the attitude and I hope we see it next week.

I’m fine with a one game. Lucic will see Meyer again and then Meyer might not have to dive to the ice on his own.
Ya i soon as i saw he got the match I told my buddy it would probably be a game, but if it sparks the team like the Dallas game it will be well worth it IMO.

i would say the game for the match penalty and the loss of game check are appropriate punishment… yeah it wasnt the cleanest thing for looch to do, but this is hockey, not tennis…
