Jordan Caron sent down to Providence

The Bruins announced today that they have assigned rookie forward Jordan Caron to the Providence Bruins.

Caron has appeared in 20 games for the big club this year compiling 3-4-7 totals. He has been a helathy scratch the past two games and has not seen game action since the Bruins' 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on December 1st. Caron, who made the NHL roster out of training camp has never appeared in an AHL game.

Caron could be busy this weekend. The Providence Bruins will take on the Portland Pirates on Friday night at "The Dunk" and will play on home-and-home series with the Springfield Falcons on Saturday and Sunday. With three games in New England this weekend for the Baby B's, it is the perfect time for Caron to go down a for quick stint.

On the surface this just looks like a move to get the young winger some more ice time and allow him to build some confidence at the AHL level, but who knows? This could be a move that sets up another roster move. We will just have to wait and see.
