Marc Savard likely out for the rest of the season
Peter Chiarelli announced moments before tonight's game that Marc Savard will likely miss the remainder of the season with a Grade-2 concussion that came courtesy of an open-ice head shot from Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke in Sunday's 2-1 loss. Savard met with a neuro-psychological specialist today. According to The Globe's Fluto Shinzawa, Savard is still experiencing many of the symptoms associated with post concussion syndrome including sleep disruption, dizziness, sensitivity to light, nausea, and difficulty concentrating.

well...
In the end, at least for me as a fan, there is really no act that can assuage the pain of losing Savard for the B’s. Taking out another star will satisfy a visceral urge for revenge for all maybe two or three seconds, but it will leave all hockey fans poorer for depriving us the chance to watch a talented playmaker. And more importantly, it won’t help Marc get healthy, nor will it help improve the game.
In the end, it’s simply not fair for anyone. Crosby doesn’t deserve to be taken out for something that Cooke did. And I would rather cheer for a team that isn’t a party to taking out a player with a dirty hit, even if they were victimized by the same act.
I completely agree with jctsai12. If the Bruins are going to do anything, i want them to go about it the right way.

The Hit on Savard
The league and in particular Colin Cambell should be ashamed of themselves. Year after year they wonder why the are the “fourth man in” for the four major sports. Well there’s your answer. Everyone who is a fan of hockey appreciates a good legel hit, even one that dummies-up somone as long as its legal. Throw a good game momentum changing fight in there for good measure as well. However, when you have a blatant, illegal hit like this that ends a guys season and your only comment is “we have to stay consistent in our ruling” then you are coping out and alieanating potential fans. The non-hockey fan sees this crap on TV and wonders why the league allows it and does not discipline it. Bad enough his own teamates did nothing but this “bush” league and Mr. Cambell then pours salt in the wound by standing pat. What a shame….
Well, aside from 21.1, this is a legal hit technically.

Legal Hit My As*
How can you say this is a Legal Hit , it was to the Head and from behind partially , watch the replay ,I watched the game and knew it was dirty from jump street , I played Hockey growing up throughout different leagues and use to be a dirty player myself I played Defense ,I always went for the head and my friend this was a head shot , which is now against NHL Rules ,Colin Campbell completely made himself look like a fool in his decision on this call , remeber the MacLaren Hit against the Canadiens Years Back he was assessed Game Misconducts and that hit was a Clean Hit , The NHL Brass is an embarresement.
