Bruins skate past Hurricanes 5-2 to wrap up road trip
The Bruins finished off their 7-game road trip with a 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night in Raleigh, NC. Five different Bruins found their way onto the scoresheet, including Mark Recchi, who scored his 560th career goal to tie Guy Lafleur for 22nd place on the NHL's all-time scoring list. Tuukka Rask made 30 saves in the win for the B's. Patrice Bergeron left the game late in the third period after taking a shot off the right leg. X-Rays on Bergeron's right leg came back negative.
Editors Note: Sorry for the short recap. I had written a full game story, but somehow I deleted the entire post.

works for me....playoffs and 7th seed here we come!!!
Bergeron left the ice late in the game with an injury after taking a puck off his leg, but Julien said the injury was not deemed serious. "The prognosis is it’s a bruise," he said.

I don’t think the caps or pens or devils or buffalo will be a good matchup.

Pittsburgh wouldn’t be too terrible. We beat them 3-0 and lost two games by 1, one of which was the Savard concussion game. It would be a fierce series depending on what happens tomorrow, which could throw a wild card into it. I don’t think the B’s would win but we’d have a shot. Washington is a different story.
On the other hand, they (and some of their players) have shown to be pretty alright in tournament games.
I don’t think there’s a “good” matchup at this point, but there are probably less-bad ones.

I actually wouldn’t mind a Buffalo matchup. The wheels are slowly falling off that wagon, and I don’t trust the already overworked Miller going into the playoffs.
Hmmm, looks like we went 3-1-0 against them this year, but 2 of those wins were OT/SO wins. We get 2 more chances to get a closer look at them this year, too. March 29 and April 8

New Jersey doesn’t bother me too much. I think we held our own against them the other night. Obviously the outcome might have been different if a certain someone was in net the whole game. Regardless, Philly, Buff or Jersey would be nice matchups for us. Unfortunately its going to be the Caps or Pens.

New Jersey wouldn’t bother me as much if it didn’t just get Paul Martin, one of their top defensemen, back.
Today. They got him back today. So that game was without him.

Yeah I read that earlier today as well. He is a steller defenseman. I think his return would pose a problem for us, but nothing insurmountable.

Good to see Looch continue to play stronger.
He’s shooting more, hovering around the net, sniffing for opportunities more.
What should we read into the fact that Marchand is playing and Paille and Thornton have been “healthy scratches?” Will we see more of this guy for the rest of the season and in the playoffs?
Good interview with Bobby Orr this morning on 98.5 BTW, always great to hear him talk a little hockey.
Which B's team is this?
Big Looch supporter. He seems to have been switching gears as of late, but I think he is maturing quite slowly. I believe he only has 7 or 8 goals so far this year. That is pretty unimpressive if you ask me. After last season I was hoping he would be scoring around 20-25 goals this year. I realize the whole teams production has dropped from last season, but I would still like to see him play better.
If I want your opinion, I'll give it to you.

yeah, i was hoping for a better season for looch, but figure in that hes been battling injuries til this point. he has 7 goals in 37 games. that spans out to 16 goals in a full season, which isnt great, but could be worse. factor in that a lot of the time looch was playing, he was trying to find his game again, and it makes it not a bad throw away season

dont settle for 7th
The bruins can still realistically win the division. 8 Pts back of Buf with two games left against the,, 5 Back of Ott and game in hand, 4 pts back of Mon wit h2 games in hand. The only games i think the bruins really will have a tough time in that are left r the games against was, bruins almost came back down 3-0 against NJ and again beat Pit 3-0 alrdy and only lost by a goal the other time.
