After two and a half weeks off for the Olympic break, the Bruins return to action against the rival Montreal Canadiens at TD Banknorth tonight. The Bruins were riding a 4-game winning streak before the NHL shutdown for their own version of February vacation, while the Habs had lost three out their last four contests.
While it was R&R for most of the team, Patrice Bergeron, Tim Thomas, Zdeno Chara, Miroslav Satan, David Krejci, and Marco Sturm were in Vancouver representing their homelands, where Bergeron and Thomas took home the gold and silver respectively.
The Bruins were quiet on the first day after the roster freeze was lifted, but I would expect that they will make a few moves before 3 o'clock on Wednesday. There could even be a move or two before puck drop tonight. I'm not going speculate on line combos, because at this time of year who knows will still be on the roster.
The game starts at 7:00 and can be seen on NESN. The Public Skate open thread starts right here at 6:30.
