Bruins head to Philly for Game 6
Making travel arrangements for a trip to Philadelphia was probably the last thing that Boston Bruins road services coordinator Johnny Bucyk wanted to do this week, but after a disappointing 4-0 loss in Game 5, Bear Force One is making another trip back to The City of Brotherly Love for Game 6 on Wednesday night. The B's will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses in Games 4 and 5 and try to finally wrap up the series after taking the first 3 games of the best-of-7 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Probable Starting Goaltenders:
*OK, so half shutout isn't an official stat, but I thought he deserved some sort of credit.
The Flyers will give journeyman goaltender Michael Leighton his first career playoff start in Game 6. Leighton, who just returned from an ankle injury himself, will be called upon to fill in for the injured Brian Boucher. Boucher left Game 5 in the second period after injuring both his knees when Flyers defenseman Ryan Parent fell awkwardly on the Philly netminder.
Injury Report
Probable Lines for the B's
Daniel Paille - Patrice Bergeron - Mark Recchi
Milan Lucic - Marc Savard - Miroslav Satan
Blake Wheeler - Vladimir Sobotka - Michael Ryder
Steve Begin - Trent Whitfield - Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara - Johnny Boychuk
Matt Hunwick - Dennis Wideman
Mark Stuart - Andrew Ference
Series Recap
Bruins lead Series 3-2
Game 1
Game 2
Game 3
Game 4
Game 5
Notes:
- There were no changes to the lines from Monday's game during Tuesday's practice for the Bruins.
- Adam McQuaid skated on his own under the watch of strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides before practice on Tuesday.
- Travis from Broad Street Hockey thinks the boys in black & golad are being too rough with his delicate flowers Flyers.
- Fun Fact: Mark Recchi did not hit a single post during the regular season.
- Claude Giroux is expected to play tonight.
- Bobby Orr thinks Boston would be a great fit for his client Taylor Hall.
- Something's Bruin drops an angry rant on the B's after Game 5.
- Most oddmakers have the B's as +135 dogs for tonight's game.
- Don't forget tonight's game doesn't start until 8:00 and can be seen on NESN.
- The Public Skate open thread gets underway right here at 7:30.

This might have been said before.....
but wow, is that the best photo of Leighton they could produce?
I hope it’s the worst and that’s why SCoC picked it, personally.

“Booby Orr”?
"According to Joe Haggerty of Comcast Sports New England, Tuukka Rask's explanation of Christopher Higgins' goal was 's**t happens'. I see the kid's English is improving nicely."
It’s his new nickname.

I don’t think so. Travis’s article was actually really well-written. He just (understandable) has a different point of view.

Somehow a Rays fan reflects badly on the Bs?
There’s such things as colleges in Boston, they attract students. Lol. He’s trying so hard.
Do the Flyers have a mascot?
yeah, its a weird circle thing with a few lines coming off it, or whatever a flyer is

Thanks NHL
For bumping this one to 8PM, BTW. So if it goes into overtime I will be sleep deprived for tomorrow. Thanks. No, no, go ahead, Sid’s your “star” and you want big ratings. Understood. Let the fans in Boston and Philly who, y’know, work for a living get screwed here. David Stern would be proud.
What? Oh shit, I just noticed that. Great.
If PIT/MON is the marquee game (and let’s not kid ourselves, it is: Game 7 is ALWAYS a big deal), wouldn’t it make more sense to move THAT to 8, and thus be in prime time?
I actually see it like this:
The Pitt/Mon game is the marquee game and the average viewer is going to want to watch that entire game. BUT, the game should end about an hour earlier than our game, so then Versus can leap over to our game just to catch most of the third, and mainly just the end of the game. And since most of our games have been very close and have had 2 OTs, they are probably hoping that it will be like that again.
That’s just IMO.
"Chris Pronger sneaked in the back door...banged it home."

Makes sense.

That was my first thought, too, but I don’t think they can do that, since tonight’s game is on NESN. If Versus can slide over and pick up the NESN feed in the third period (or whenever), then it absolutely makes sense. However, I am assuming that NESN’s broadcast rights are exclusive.
Versus has national broadcast rights, which are blacked out locally. However Versus does have rights to show the games, probably picking up CSNPhilly as CSN and Versus are both owned by Comcast.

I cannot wait for tonight’s game. After the boys in Orange and Black complete this historic comeback, the organization should seriously consider dropping the B from the front of your team’s name.
It’s just simply a more apt description for what’s left of this team after not being able to finish.
drop the b…hmm, that would leave….Ruins? O-HO! hahaha oh man you are a yukkster!

My predictions for tonight:
1. Wheeler will fall down a lot.
2. Wideman will play about 22 undeserved minutes
3. Someone will skate right through Wideman and Hunwick.
4. Wideman will break at least 3 sticks.
5. Boston’s power play will be the most uncoordinated, sloppy 2 minutes of the game.
6. In spite of all this, Leighton will completely cave and the Bruin’s will advance.

Just off the top of my head…
We don’t like you because you are a passive aggressive troll.
and
Because you make utterly idiotic statements on here and provide absolutely no logic whatsoever to back them up.
You provide absolutely no content to our discussion of hockey at all. You display an almost blinding ignorance of hockey knowledge.
You have absolutely no concept of humor and sarcasm – you seriously just thought that someone was assembling a WSD (a Weapon of Savard Destruction) and was going to launch it at tonights game.
To sum up, you posting is like reading the second act of Flowers for Algernon….it just keeps getting more and more retarded.

I know!!! The worst part is Travis wont even respond to my emails so there is nothing I can do. If anyone can go over there and express my displeasure would be great.

it's not even worth the unbanning
seriously. if they’re picking on you like that, why bother even going on there or even sending an email to the admin?
i talk on there on occasion. it’s pretty tough to NOT be flamed/criticized at times, even if you have a fairly objective viewpoint. it’s just the name of the game i guess. some of the users on there are alright, but most of them are purebred hypocrites (calling opposing fans homers when that’s exactly what they are).
don’t let it get to you.
yeah whatever.
Im not going back there either way.
they hate me there for some reason. screw them.

dont even think about post anything remotely negative about the Flyers on their blog. to do so is considered high treason by them and apparently results in a swift banning lol
they’re a sensitive group of fans that likes to only hear things from the Philly standpoint. Nuff said.
they are jerks to me. I dont care anymore

Le Centre Bell is letting fans watch tonight’s game on Jumbotrons…why don’t the B’s do this? The Garden is empty tonight.
yeah, you’d think they would love to sell beer and food without even having to show a game….I bet they think people won’t show up.
I’d go, though.

It’s fine watching HD at home, but for those of us a T ride away from the Garden, being with 17,000 fans to watch a game would be awesome.

That's fair.
I’m outside the city, about a 50 minute drive, I’d consider it for a cup clinching game, but much too early for that (or that kind of talk).
they could make a killing… 5 bucks a head for admission, sell concessions and such at normal price, tons of money, and if i was living in boston, i would go in a second. i would even consider traveling for a cup clincher
