So I'm thinking with the B's @ #2, they have the potential to make a deal with Edmonton for the #1 pick and more.
Arguably Hall and Seguin are pick 1 and 1a, so it's hard to fault either team for taking either player, for the first few years at least.
So if the B's really want Hall, why not go after the #1 pick and more...namely Dustin Penner.
It would be a lot to give up for the Oilers, but I think the B's could make a compelling offer:
#2 pick
B's 1st round pick
Then two of the following:
Toronto R2
a defenseman: Sign and trade Mark Stuart, Matt Hunwick
a young C: Joe Coburne, Hamill, Sodoka
a vet: Wideman
Oilers could use some help on defense, a lot of their money is tied up in C's (which could make their take Seguin problematic) but Wides and Penner have similar contract levels, so that end would be a wash.
They would be receiving an extra 1st round pick, plus a ready for the NHL prospect.
This is very roughly thought out, but I think there is a possible deal here.
