1. Rumors that Seidenberg will ask and can receive $3.5-4M this year in the market.
2. Boychuck being elevated to a UFA.
3. Stuart was banged up end of this year, but he's arguable the best of the three from a contract value stand point.
On point 1, I wanted Seidenberg after watching him in the Carolina series last year and there were rumors of him getting $3.5-$4M then as well. B's went with Morris (oops) and Seidenberg took $2.25M I think it was from ATL.
So perhaps there is room in that dollar figure but to me the reality is that he won't want to take less then max value in the market 2 years in a row.
Boychuck being a UFA really puts a wrench in things. Plenty of teams could take a flier on him, read Buffalo would be interested and that makes a lot of sense. And as his $$ elevates, regardless of how much he wants to be in Boston it's going to be tough.
I think Boychuck maybe is content with $3M over 2 yrs, Stuart will need to be $2.5-3m/year I think and if Seids is another $4m and they sign all 3, that means someone is getting moved from the blue line.
To me Stuart becomes trade bait here. Hard to move Wideman or Ference and Hunwick wouldn't clear enough cap space (plus he's got solid upside on his dollars) So either you are letting Boychuck or Dennis leave getting nothing back or you are resigning them and Stuart and then trying to package Stuart with Ryder or Thomas in a cap clearing deal.
