No Bruins games leads to boredom. Boredom leads to Paint Shop Pro, and Paint Shop Pro leads to jersey concepts. We've gone back and forth on here before about the B's current look, and while I like all four of the jerseys used this past year, I can't help but let my creativity run a bit to see what else I can come up with. None of the following jerseys is a major redesign, but they are tweaks and I'm curious as to what people think. Feel free to chime in with your own concepts too. So, without further ado...
I've grown to love the "comic B" of the Winter Classic jerseys, since it gives a real sense of old time hockey. That being said, this is the logo I initially thought would look best on them, and I think you'll agree that it works very well.
It was pointed out to me that the current away jerseys, while channelling the spirit of the Bobby Orr era, aren't quite a direct derivative. The difference is in the shoulder yoke - the current B's have a black yoke with gold trim, the Orr era look had a gold yoke with black trim. So I gave it a try on the new jersey...and I'm not sure. Maybe it's the black cuffs, but it just doesn't flow as well as I had hoped. Maybe on the ice, instead of on a mannequin, it would look better. And finally...
The "All Blacks" look, while cool, missed a golden old school opportunity. The Bourque/Neely era jerseys are vastly underrated and deserve a throwback.
So then, thoughts? Howabout other ideas? Throw some concepts of your own up here and let's pipe dream.
