Horton deal heating up
Some Speculations about this deal please
http://www.nesn.com/2010/06/bruins-closing-in-on-panthers-winger-nathan-horton.html
Sounds a little more solid then the whole Columbus trade but still sounds iffy to me. Horton has been injury prone and only had a 30 goal season once since being drafted in 2003 but has had solid season with the Panthers. Ive heard that the deal is something like
To Boston Nathan Horton
To Florida Bergeron, 15th pick, prospect.
To me this would be robbery for Florida at its finest. Horton is NOT worth that. He is skilled and maybe with a better team he can breakout and have some solid years but for what we would give to him would be absurd. I don't think hes the goal scorer that's gonna fill the spot. Maybe if it involved wheeler or ryder I would be more happier but thats just me.

The pick is the Bruins 3rd-rounder in 2011, I believe.

I like it because we get rid of Wideman and get 2 good, physical wingers, one who has the potential to be a 35 goal scorer. I dont like the fact that we took back more salary than we gave up plus the 15th pick. Overall I am ok with it but am intrigued because there is now a hole on D and we didnt gain any extra salary room to sign Boychuk or Stuart.
hopefully that Thomas trade happens soon and we don’t take back too much salary

Ya agreed, the more I look at it, the more I like it besides the salary thing. lucic, savard, horton?
Unless they ruin their team by trading Savard.

I agree, but that leaves Ryder and having him be the money that gets moved is just too perfect!

I dont get why they wanna trade Savard, Bergie, or Krejci. Even if they draft Seaguin, he can play wing

They probably don’t but its all about money. They need to move money and if you were a GM who would you ask for. Savvy Bergie Krejci Thomas Ryder.
It has to be one of these five doesn’t it?

Trading Thomas would help so much

I actully like Thomas.
I just think we need the extra cap space.
BTW I love the addition to your userpic ;)

I’d rather see Ryder go before Timmy but he can go before the centers.
pic isn’t working though

ugh I know
Yeah getting rid of Ryder would be great, but you can get more for Thomas I think.

Now in a perfect world something like this unfolds:
Steve Tambellini really wants Seguin, but know’s Boston needs a scoring winger, so he is playing it off like he’ll take Hall in hopes PC would give him a king’s ransom for the number 1 and still get his guy at 2. Now that Boston has Horton Tambellini gives up on trying to trade with Boston and just takes Seguin at 1…leaving Hall as a gift at the 2 spot…if that happens I will literally sh*t a brick.

i saw a rumor somewhere that edmonton was thinking about taking seguin, but that they had a little slip up and said they were taking hall, i feel like its still a toss up, i dont think edmonton knows what theyre gonna do

According to Puck Daddy...
Campbell is an RFA which makes me wonder about giving up the 15 spot along with Wides, though I will agree it should be a talent upgrade. Love the idea of Kaberle for Wheeler/Ryder, though I don’t see it happening.
Kaberle’s salary is killer.
Just keep Boychuk and Stuart

It's a good deal, pending other moves for cap space -and the true nature of Horton's effort
I doubt it happened but I wonder if they spoke with Dennis Seidenberg for a closer opinion of Horton before finalizing the deal
thomas and ryder (9 mil) have to be on their way out and PC had to be sure of that or i dont think he would have made this deal. Look for those 2 gone in the next few days but i dont think we take back as much……at least we shouldnt. All these trades need to happen in order to sign our key UFA’s and be able to plug the rest of the holes come July 1.
why isnt this on the front page yet?
