Seguin chooses a number that will force unfair comparisons
Bruins fans are hoping that Tyler Seguin will be the next big NHL superstar in The Hub of Hockey. Like any young player with so much hype and promise attached to his name, the fans are bound to make comparisons to those that came before him. Seguin made that connection even easier for fans as he has chosen to wear #19, the sweater last worn by Joe Thornton.
New Bruins Tyler Seguin and Nathan Horton were introduced to the media at a press conference at TD Garden this morning where they unveiled their new jerseys (#19 and #18 respectively). The pair is scheduled to throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park before tonight's Red Sox game.

Stevey Y was his idol, so the # isn't a shocker
I really like the B’s bringing both these guys in at the same time. I think it helps Nate get geared up and excited to perform offering him the spotlight early and often.
Me too

(from the @NHLBruins twitter)
as an aside, look at the forehead on Horton.

bahahaha…..okay this makes sense now…..
i’m working in Jersey right now and a guy i work with came up to me and said “oates is the new assistant coach”. i thought he was talking about the Bruins (because of our assistant situation), but apparently he was talking about his team. i had no idea they needed an assistant.
sorry for the misinfo
I wouldn’t be against it. He might be able to get that PP going.

Guy like that may be a better player then coach though
Natural instincts are hard to instill on others, Oatesy was pretty ridiculous with his vision and hands
What, you’re saying Gretzky was a bad coach? (hint: yes. Absolutely yes.)

kind of funny that the better players turn out to be busts as coaches…..
on a side note: am i the only one who thinks Recchi would make a good coach?
No, probably not. I’d be surprised to see him not end up in the front office of one of the 100 teams he’s played for.

I’m a big Recchi fan (always have been) and I figured his knowledge and experience of different playing styles (played for 6 teams) would be good assets for a coach……
I meant you aren’t alone in thinking he’d be a good coach. He’ll be in some team’s front office if he wants. Too many negatives on my part, sorry.

He picked Jumbo's #?
Ouch. That will force comparisons.
Anyway, props out to my hometown team. Hope to see Yellow vs. Teal Next year for the prize. That would be EPIC.
