Bergeron traded?
I heard that maybe Patrice Bergeron could be traded.

The Boston Bruins have plenty of centers, but miss some wings, a real right or lef wing that is able to score some goals!
I dont think Ryder can fill the job of a real scorer. We need a superstar! I would love to have Kovalchuk on the team or Patrick Sharp

Doubtful...
Given our cap room Kovalchuck is highly Doubtful, unless they make some huge moves. Anyway, this is just a guess from a sports writer for the globe. No source coming from any other teams or any hints from Chiarelli that this will happen. Besides, his NTC doesn’t expire until July, so we still have about a month until this will even come close to happening.
Patrick Sharp would be nice if we could trade someone like Ryder or Wheeler for him.
Never happen

I see no reason to trade Bergy, or why/how that would help the team
He bounced back toward the end of this season and I think next year will be much closer to the guy he was prior to the concussion.
He’s cheap, is a very good 2 way center and the B’s would be selling him VERY low if they moved him.
Makes no sense to me, unless you are getting like a Bobby Ryan type
I agree trading Bergie would most definately make this team worse!
There is currently plenty of cap space beyond the end of next year, so extending him shouldn’t be a concern.
The only reason I could see him getting moved is to clear cap space for this year.
He’s one of the last I want to see go and I doubt that he’s going anywhere but I’d be surprised to hear PC say he is untouchable, which he should be!

First of all, no one is trading a player like Bergeron on a draft pipe dream. Hall or Seguin are not assured competitors at the NHL level. I’m sure they will adapt quickly and make an impact on whatever team they end up on, but you don’t trade great players like Bergeron away just because you might draft the top center, or because you have lots of depth at center. There is no reason why some of the players we already have in the system couldn’t move over to wing. Sobotka I would like to see as a winger. I would move him up and throw Hammil on the 4th line and see how he does. Having lots of depth at center isn’t a bad thing.
i agree completely, we do have a ton of depth at center, but bergeron is the best center we have, even ahead of savy. there should be no situation short of ovechkin where bergeron gets traded (which were not going to have to worry about that)

There are people I’d take for Bergeron for sure. All of them are better players than Bergeron, but the list is longer than Crosby and Ovechkin.

Washington needs a skill center badly. Do you think the Bs would be interested in Alexander Semin, he of a 40 goal season, an almost 40 goal season, outstanding PK statistics, solid two-way play, and two excellent playoff series everyone overlooks in light of his last two, poorer, playoff series? He’s also going to be UFA in 2011, and a bit of a cap room savings too.
