Bruins sign Jeremy Reich to a 1-year deal
The Bruins have signed tough guy and familiar face Jeremy Reich to a one-year deal. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but I'm pretty sure that this deal is a 2-way contract and Reich will be in Providence. The 31-year-old forward spent last season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, where tallied 20 points (12-8-20) and 24 PIMs in 33 games.
Reich spent parts of 4 seasons in the Bruins organization, including two seasons with the big club. He logged 90 games with the Bruins during the '06-'07 and '07-'08 seasons racking up 141 PIMs and adding 6 points (2-4-6)

Reicher!
Since the B’s have once again priced me out of mini-plans, I’m sure I’ll see plenty of him in America’s Only City-State this season.
hey, more points per game in the ahl the last 2 years than hamill, nice signing

If he goes to Providence, he really hasn’t made the Bruins either.
I got a mini-plan in Providence, so I figuring on seeing him a few times.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Any idea why he only played 33 games?

I know he broke his wrist in the preseason with the Islanders, not sure if that is the reason or not.

LEAF FAN ALERT!!!!
Leafs fan here, I didn’t know where else to ask the question other then this thread. You guys are pretty tight on the cap and still don’t have Blake Wheeler signed. He’s a big body and something that Burke likes. However my question is: How is Blake Wheeler’s skating? Whats his Ceiling? How is his defensive zone coverage? Also would the Bruins even trade Toronto this year knowing that if they do then the chances of the 1st round pick in the lottery is even less. Thanks guys! p.s. I come in peace lol
I’ll let someone a little more objective answer that question!

First of all, thanks for joining. Welcome.
Second, people dump on Wheeler a lot, but I think he could be good. He’s shown moments of being really good but isn’t, ahem, truculent. He did fight Ryan O’byrne that one time, but it was kinda embarassing. As for whether he’d get traded, I could see it but I’d doubt that they’re shopping him. Disclaimer: I thought they wouldn’t shop Savard but we see how that’s going.

More than anything i would say wheeler is frusterating for us. he shows moments where he plays like a big bodied power foreward that can skate circles around defenders. i would say that most fans would be ok with wheeler coming back for the right price. but if he were to be part of a good deal i would be ok with moving him. say wheeler and your first back for kaberle?? please

He has a big body, but he doesn’t use it. At this point, I wouldn’t call him a Brian Burke type player. I think he has a lot of potential and showed in his rookie year that he can be a very good NHL player. He needs to learn to play to his size more and avoid mental mistakes.

Thanks for the input, I guess I was blinded by his size. I assumed he was gritty and crashed the net.

We would like to see him go to the dirty areas on the ice more.

No. If he goes to another team, let him be soft still.

Joe Colborne
You guys have an abundance of depth at centre(Canadian spelling lol) so maybe you guys will be willing to part with big Joe. I know Kaberle alone wouldn’t be enough but what would you guys think would be equal value for him. The leafs will have cap flexibility once Jeff Finger is sent down at the beginning of the season so we will be able to take on salary dumps like Ryder.
Kaberle + Stefenovich http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/mikhail_stefanovich
for Joe Colborne + Ryder ?
If that deal was on the table, the Bruins would make it in a heartbeat as long as the
dollars even out since we’re right up against the cap right now
