To the best of my knowledge, Marc Savard was set to be a free agent this current off season. So what if he wasn't signed in December?
Assume Savvy doesn't have the concussion and finishes at 85 pts, just under 1 ppg.
Assume Savvy is willing to take the same cap friendly, long term deal to stay in Boston.
Assume the NHL season plays out the exact same, B's get stung in the playoffs, get the #2 pick and take Tyler Seguin:
