Bruins return Spooner to juniors, send McIver and Arniel to AHL

The Bruins have whittled down their roster even further today, sending Ryan Spooner back to his junior team and assigning Nathan McIver and Jamie Arniel to the Providence Bruins.

Damn. I can’t say I’m surprised by sending Spooner back to the juniors, nor do I necessarily disagree, but he was playing so well in camp that I thought they might consider giving him a shot with the big club.

Since the Bruins are apparently planning to take 26 or 27 guys over to Belfast, per Kalman, they probably have 2 more cuts to make. I would assume that McGrattan and Schaefer will be those two guys, unless Timmy’s hip is still bothering him.
