Bob McKenzie of TSN is reporting that Marc Savard has been diagnosed with a second concussion. Savard left Saturday's game against the Colorado Avalanche after hitting his head against the glass after a taking a hit from Colorado defenseman Matt Hunwick. Savard flew back to Boston on Sunday and was examined by doctors today. There is no timeline for Savard's return.
To no one's surprise, BOS's Marc Savard has been diagnosed with a concussion. Out indefinitely at this point.
This is obviously a major set-back for Savard, who just recently returned to game action following post concussion syndrome stemming from a hit by Matt Cooke of the Pittsburgh Penguins last March. Savard did return for the play-off series with the Philadelphia Flyers last spring, but later admitted that it was a mistake for him to return so soon. Hopefully, Savard can return to the game he loves soon, but most importantly is able to regain his health and quality of life.
