This day in Bruins history..
First off, Happy Birthday to the Bruins, granted their NHL franchise on this day in 1924. Amazing what $15K could get you back then.
1959: Boston's Vic Stasiuk and Bronco Horvath each scored a goal and three assists to lead the Bruins to an 8-4 win over the visiting Montreal Canadiens.
1979: Ray Bourque scored a goal and added an assist in his first NHL game, a 4-0 shutout over the Winnipeg Jets. Dave Carigan has a bit more on that here. Bourque went on the win the Calder Trophy that season. Gilles Gilbert recorded his 18th and final career shutout.
