Who will have a better career Tyler Seguin or Taylor Hall?
Being a Bruins blog there may be a lot of bias on here for this question, but who has the better career between either one of these upcoming superstars? Hall had a much better season last year even though he didn't finish the year. And Seguin is having what looks to be a monster year in the works this season.
2011-12 stats
Tyler Seguin 8g 7a 15p +11
Taylor Hall 3g 6a 9p +3
I decided to post this on the front page because, I added the same poll the the Copper & Blue and they gave it front page life on their blog.

Tyler for sure!…unless he leaves after his entry level deal for more money somewhere else…then I’ll hope he chokes on his own vomit!

Hall
I didn’t think Seguin would be this good this season and he is proving me a fool.
I figure if I vote for Hall here … one of two things will happen:
- The Bruins will have the better player, I’ll look like a fool, but the team will win more games, so I’ll be happy.
- Hall is the better player, so I’ll be right.
Seems like a can’t lose option to me.

Seguin, IMO
I say this mainly because I feel that Tyler makes everyone around him better; I don’t think Hall has the same effect on his linemates.
Also, I agree with Corny… I wouldn’t want to live in Edmonton.
Kick his ass, Seabass!
I might not of thought so last year, but I have noticed that this year already. Shows some maturity.
That's how I feel about it.
I think the difference in ice time has played a huge role, and it’s clear he got a lot of work in during the summer.

Ehh, I’d say Hall has that exact same effect. He’s an offensive dynamo and is willing to everything from dangling to going into the corners to fighting. After last year if I had to pick I’d have said Hall, and I don’t think that season’s advantage can evaporate to clearly favor Seguin after just a month.

Define "better career"
Tyler already has one ring. That’s one ring more than a lot of players already :)
^ truth
And, he played a big part in the last 2 rounds of the playoffs, it’s not like he was a pessenger for the whole thing.

meh
I didn’t want to say, “WELL, he played well in two games and was invisible for the rest,”; he did, in fact, make a difference IMO.

I voted for Seguin...
because hes a Bruin (jk) but I think both of them will go on to have great careers. The only difference right now is one of them has a ring and their name engraved on a trophy and the other one doesnt.
I actually had a really good debate (aka.. drunken yelling match) with a buddy (hes an Oilers fan) about this during their draft year and so far I look like a genius. My argument was along the same lines as phony in a sense of where I think with Seguins passing ability is a bit better which allows him to make other players look better and that puts him just a slight bit ahead of Hall. Dont get me wrong as I love the way Hall plays with abit more physicality and edge then Seguin and the way he drives the net but at the same time in order for him to have a great career he needs someone to find him in open ice or set him up as hes going to be an elite goal scorer. All great scorers had someone dishing them the puck so that is where I give Tyler the slight edge as he appears to be able to do both.
Just in a purely fantasy situation though…how great would it have been if they played on the same line somewhere….they would be a scary duo to face.
They did it for Savy, they did it for Horton, they did it for each other, they did it for us. I give you the 2011 Stanley Cup Champions....The Boston Bruins!!

The Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Jordan Eberle line looks like it could be scary good as it is.

I totall agree with you. To think they are all 21 and under is a scary thought for the rest of the league in years to come.

Seguin vs Hall
In my opinion, I’ll say Tyler Seguin (11G 11A 22P). Yes, Taylor Hall had a more successful rookie season in the NHL (22G 20A 42P), however everyone that followed both of them before the draft knew that Taylor Hall would have more of an immediate impact with whatever club he was on. Most of the experts and scouts said that Tyler Seguin would be the better player, in terms of points and production, in the long run. No one would’ve predicted how dynamic Seguin has been this year too! (hence why he left off the All-Star ballot). He is becoming a complete player and is growing up each and every game. Don’t get me wrong on this one, I think Taylor Hall is a terrific player and I respect his style and commitment to the game. I also think that Edmonton will be a dominant team in the West for a while.
