This Week In Bruins History: Lucic Nets Natural Hat Trick

Stay connected for news and updates

Milan Lucic had a career year during the 2010-11 season which included his second career hat-trick.  On November 18, 2010 against the Florida Panthers he earned a natural hat-trick in a 4-0 Tuukka Rask shutout.  Lucic had shown that he wasn't just a tough guy but rather the power forward Cam Neely prototype that he had been expected to be.

Milan Lucic single handedly tore apart the Panthers on this night.   He broke a 0-0 tie late in the first period when he ripped  a shot over the shoulder of goaltender Tomas Vokoun.  Late in the third period he added two insurance goals only fifteen seconds apart to pad  a 3-0 lead.  Shawn Thornton added a goal and dropped the gloves with Darcy Hordichuk in the rout as well.  Lucic scored goals 8, 9, and 10 that night on his way to his first 30 goal season.
