Hitting The Links: It's All About 8th Edition

If the Ottawa Senators lose tonight and the Bruins win, the Bruins are officially in 8th in the Conference. Really, that's all you need to know.

The Bruins take on a struggling Columbus Blue Jackets team tonight. Are we going to have to suffer through a bajillion trade rumors for the next few days? Probably. Should we listen to them? Probably not. Is this a trap game that would be really embarrassing to lose?

Obviously.

After the jump, the Isles' new thirds are hideous, the Canucks and Senators have the same record, and Tyler Seguin wears that awful Dunkin Donuts jersey again...

Bruins News:

Benoit Pouliot had a rough start, but he's taking little steps to prove himself in Boston. [Mass Live]

it's only a hit to the head because Myers is tall

however, letter of the law, yeah, that’s a headshot, probably should be a short suspension.

However, no intent, no past rapsheet, and – though it shouldn’t be involved, it is – no injury, he’ll be scott free.

columbus is not as easy as their record indicates

Columbus is actually a pretty solid team – they’ve just been getting horrendous goaltending and bad luck shooting.

If you believe Steve Mason is a .875 goalie and that Columbus’ shooters are so bad they make every goalie look like Tim Thomas … then yeah, this is an easy game.

Otherwise? This is almost like teams who played the Bruins the past few weeks expecting that they were a non-playoff team.
