Wheeler traded
Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart to Atlanta for Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik (minor league d-man). This is done deal according to capgeek.com.
What kind of information does anyone have Valabik? The Bruins demoted directly to the minors apparently. The stats don't look all that impressive.
The Bruins have given up Wheeler, Stuart, Colborne, and a first round pick for Kaberle and Peverley.
Does this move make the Bruins a legit contender?

Valabik is a big (6’7" 245lb) fairly young (25 as of a few days ago) Slovakian d-man. He tries to base his game off of Chara and and is a huge fan of him (which is funny because the first game they played against each other Chara throttled him after Valabik went after Kessel). Maybe in playing in the same organization as his hero Chara could mold him into a solid NHL Defenseman I mean Chara really didnt turn into the Chara we know until he was about 25 or so…here’s to hoping i guess. Peverly was a solid pick up I believe. In the mold of a Kris Versteeg type. Only problem i see is he is a center with no real wing experience. If no other position player’s are moved…I’m seeing Seguin on the fourth line i guess with the third being Kelly LW since he has played that position a lot, Peverly at Center, and Ryder at RW possibly…figure in the Kaberle deal if it gets done and the team will look like…
Lucic Krejci Horton
Marchand Bergeron Recchi
Kelly Peverly Ryder
Seguin Campbell Thornton
Paille
Chara Kaberle
Seids Kampfer
Boychuk Ference
McQuaid
Thomas
Rask
I like what i see not sure if makes them Cup Contenders, but i feel a lot better about them having a deep run then i did before. I actually like Peverly a lot, can’t wait to see what he can do here
