Bruins to hold press conference at 2 PM ET regarding Marc Savard
The Bruins have scheduled a press conference for 2 PM ET at TD Garden to make an announcement regarding Marc Savard. GM Peter Chiarelli, Dr. Peter Asnis and Marc Savard are scheduled to speak to the media at that time. Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com reported late yesterday afternoon that the Bruins are planning on shutting Savard down for the remainder of the season due to post-concussion symptoms. The press conference will be streamed live on BostonBruins.com and broadcast live on NESN.
Comments
Michael Ryder and Blake Wheeler will be unable to attend the event as they will be donning blindfolds and playing GoalBall with the Perkins School for the Blind. Insert your own joke.

Marc Savard will be texting Bruins during games (if possible). I hope he tells them how to score on a PP.

Well there’s a lot to chew on from this press conference, but one thing that stands out is that Ference is not getting a lot of support from teammates or management.
Yeah, I was afraid of that. Paille was less than thrilled, and I thought Julien didn’t exactly back up Ference there. That’s a shame, because Ference was, and is, right.
Savard claimed ignorance of the quote and through it to Chiarelli, who would not say either way if he supported Ference’s quotes. PC pretty much said that Ference spoke out of gut reaction without watching the tape.

Wonder if they might start shopping Ference around. I can’t say I’d be too upset about that. He’s played well this year, but he’s due for an injury and/or a downturn in play.
And I don’t care how good he’s been, that contract still sucked. His play so far has vindicated it, but at the time they signed him, they could have gotten him for less.
would not mind at all
never been a huge Ference person.

Ference may be right in what he said, but I guess Grapes might be more right! So long Andrew!

I think both sides are blowing Ference’s comments out of proportion. I think some within the organization may not like Ference’s comments, but I don’t think it is creating that extreme of a divide in the room.

You’re probably right, again! There was a report on the Sports Hub that Ference said the team was together for the Super Bowl and they were laughing about the hoopla over his comments, Paille included!
Maybe they just screw with the reporters for fun!

“In the next few weeks and the trade deadline, we’ll be busy” – Chiarelli

Well, if they want to replace Savard’s skill set, that’s certainly a good way of doing it. I just don’t see the Stars dealing him, though.
The $7.8 cap hit worries me more
but damn, wouldn’t that be sweet.
